NIM Icons
NIM Icons are representations of a tech feature and how it works. Where the hero NIM feature(s) of a vehicle is highlighted with NIM Graphics in a full bleed image, icons are a visual shorthand to showcase what other NIM features that model is equipped with in a limited space. They also add visual interest to the page and prompt customers to read on.
Icons should only be used in mediums that will allow for cohesive storytelling, in addition to the hero NIM feature(s). This includes Brochures, Website, Point of Sale, Digital Display and Social.
If using icons to describe individual NIM features, the NIM Icon must be used together with the full tech name and a brief explanation of that feature.
In describing features that have been packaged together (e.g. Safety Shield 360), then the NIM Icons must be used together with the full tech name.
Some judgement is needed in using icons, to ensure the overall layout is balanced while still conveying a compelling story of the vehicle.
Please refer to your Regional Naming Specialist (RNS) for an updated list of tech names.
Usage Recommendations
In Brochures and Website, it is recommended to have no more than six icons with a brief explanation of the tech in a space/page. Depending on the size of the Point of Sale, Digital Display and Social execution, the balance of the layout and legibility of the tech name should inform how many icons are used.
Across all touchpoints, icons and the accompanying tech names must be legible for that medium.
Recommended icon size for Brochures is 0.82 inches wide. Maximum icon size is 1 inch, but no smaller than 0.75 inches.
For Website use, maximum icon size should be 175px wide, but no smaller than 125px.
Only the globally-approved icons can be used. Local markets should not create new icons.
Light & Dark Icons
Regions may select between light or dark icons, based on the best option for visibility.
Do not use a mix of light and dark icons in a single spread.
